A
Federal tallcase clock made by John Heinzelman in Manheim,
Pennsylvania @ 1800. Cherrywood case has turned feet, paneled
base, chamfered corners on the base and the trunk, and fine
concentric turnings on the hood rosettes. Case has a delicate
feel, employs dovetailed construction, and retains its original
color and finish. The painted dial shows phases of the moon,
as well as the rare features of center sweep seconds and center
sweep calendar. The paint on the dial is original and in excellent
condition. The eight day weight driven movement strikes the
hours on a bell, and has the very rare feature of a pinwheel
escapement. It retains its original pendulum and weights.
Dimensions are: 97" tall x 18,5" wide x 10"
deep.
