A
country tallcase clock from Pennsylvania @ 1825. This clock
is constructed from solid birdseye maple. The case is done
in a transitional Empire style, with applied half columns
on the hood, panels in the front and sides of the base, unique
finials and carved rosettes. The original eight day weight
driven movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a center
sweep calendar. It is a Black Forest movement having brass
gears and wooden plates, still retaining its original tin
can weights and patterned cut out pendulum. The original wooden
dial still has its original paint.
Dimensions are: 97" tall x 18,5" wide x 12"
